Pears with chocolate recipe

How to prepare pears with chocolate

EASY CHOCOLATE PEARS RECIPE

Ingredients for 8 pears

  • 8 pears
  • ¾ kilo of sugar
  • 1 liter of water
  • 3 tablespoons of corn flour
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 stick of cinnamon stick
  • 1 100g dark chocolate bar
  • 1 bowl of cream ice cream

Preparation

Boiling of pears in syrup

  • Peel the pears well without removing the petiole. Empty the lower overhang and cut the base a little so that they are straight and can be placed vertically.
  • Pour the water into a container. Add the sugar and place the pears in such a way that they can stand vertically without falling over. To do this, choose the right size pan for the pears. Light the fire.
  • Stir until it starts to boil. Once it starts to boil, continue stirring for a couple more minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and add the cinnamon stick cut into two or three small pieces. Light the fire again. When it starts to boil, place it over low heat for about 20 more minutes. Stir from time to time so that they do not stick to the pan and are well coated with syrup.
  • Turn off the fire. Remove the pan and place the pears on top of a platter so that they are slightly separated. Care must be taken to ensure that they do not break when removing them and that the liquid remains in the pan.
  • Let them cool to room temperature. Once cool, cover them with aluminum foil and place them in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Preparation of the chocolate paste

  • Pour the cornflour onto a plate. Add a little milk and stir until a paste forms.
  • Place the chocolate in a saucepan over the heat. Pour the whole corn flour and sugar. Stir well over medium heat until all the ingredients are broken down and a well-dissolved chocolate paste is formed. Turn off the fire.
  • Add the corn flour paste to the chocolate paste and stir until everything is well mixed. Turn the heat back on and keep simmering for 5 more minutes. Stir continuously so that the chocolate does not get stuck in the pan.
  • Add three tablespoons of butter. Beat well with a hand mixer until a good, uniform and shiny chocolate paste is obtained. Once well blended, reduce the heat intensity to a minimum.

How to serve it

Take the pears out of the refrigerator and place some scoops of cream ice cream between them. Subsequently, they are well sprinkled with the very hot chocolate paste.

They are served as dessert. It should be prepared immediately before serving so that the dish presents a strong contrast between the coldness of the pears or ice cream and the warmth of the chocolate.
