Polygonum bistorta – (Bistort)

Perennial herbaceous plant of the dock family -polygonaceae- up to 1 m. Stems erect, single and glabrous. Lower leaves ovate, ending abruptly in a long winded stalk; upper ones unstalked, decurrent and lanceolate. Flowers pink, seldom white, in a dense final spike with the stamens standing out from the corollas. By the paths, grasslands and gutters in mountains.
