Is milk thistle a toxic plant?
Milk thistle (Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn.) is NOT a toxic plant.
Neither its active ingredient, silymarin, presents toxic effects at effective doses.
The fresh plant can cause contact dermatitis.
Precautions about milk thistle
