Is goldenrod a poisonous plant?

No, goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea L.) is not a toxic or poisonous plant.
It is considered a safe plant in most cases. Its principles are tannins, saponins and flavonoids, with astringent and diuretic properties.
This plant poisoning in humans is difficult. Saponosides could cause gastrointestinal irritation. In veterinary medicine, the congeners of goldenrod plants can be toxic because they contain nitrates.
Goldenrod in pregnancy and lactation
Goldenrod remedies should not be administered through internal (infusions, syrups, etc.) to pregnant or breast feeding women because its safe use is unknown in these cases.
