Foods that contain a lot of leucine
LIST OF FOODS WITH A LOT OF LEUCINE
Foods rich in leucine are the following:
* Meat products rich in leucine
Milk and dairy products, especially cheese and protein supplements made from milk powder (whey protein)
Eggs, meat (chicken, pork, beef, etc)
- Fish (salmon, halibut, sardines, mackerel, etc.)
* Plant foods rich in leucine
Walnuts are rich in leucine
In general, plant foods do not contain so much leucine as foods rich in animal protein. Among the richest plant sources of leucine, we can include:
Legumes: (soy and soy products: tofu, tempeh, soymilk,…, lupins, peas, beans, chickpeas, lentils, peanuts, etc), peanut butter is specially rich in isoleucine
Nuts and seeds: (hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, pine nuts…).Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds (tahini) contain a lot of isoleucine.

Cereals: wheat, barley, oats, rice, etc and cereal products (such as bread, flour, and especially seitan)
