Characteristics of the plant
Perennial plant in the native place; cultivated as annual in less hot climates. Crawling stems, climbing sometimes which spread around the center. Round leaves, highly divided, with a strong venation and with the petiolated in the center. Tubular flowers, open at the tip, trumpet- shaped. Five petals, ending in a long spur. Superior lip bilobed; inferior one, trilobed. The flowers present a wide range of colors, from bright red to cream or yellow. It blooms from summer to the end of autumn. | |
