It stands dryness very well.

Native from Asia, but broadly cultivated and naturalized, it can be on the edge of the highways, parks and gardens. In many places of warm climate, like in the south of the United States, where it has become an invasive species, because with its fast growing and size it overshadows many native species of plants which finally die. On the other hand, it is potentially considered as a very useful species to forest barren areas of Africa, given the great great capacity of the seed to germinate.
