Aloe vera in natural cosmetics
Aloe vera is used in natural cosmetics for its astringent properties,
provided by with its richness in tannins, formic acid and zinc, as well as anti-inflammatory, bactericidal (anthraquinones) and moisturizing (mucopolysaccharides) properties, which make it very suitable for the care and health of the skin.
For this reason, aloe vera is widely used in natural cosmetic products that can be purchased in beauty stores, pharmacies or health food stores. You can also make homemade creams with aloe vera to improve the appearance of the skin and give it greater freshness.
Benefits of aloe for acne (aloe gel and aloe acibar)
Aloe can be applied for different purposes for acneic skin. Unlike other preparations seen above, a mixture of aloe gel and a small amount of acibar (yellow latex located under the skin of aloe leaves) is recommended for acne. The result is a rather astringent and antiseptic cream, which dries the skin and prevents the growth of infectious bacteria, as well as eliminates shine in oily skin. You can add a few drops of rosemary essential oil to increase its properties (1 drop is enough, too much would cause facial skin irritation).
Aloe vera, also known as aloe vera, also contains anthraquinones, known as aloe-emodin and aloeferon. They are compounds with antiseptic and antibacterial properties. The percentage of anthraquinones in a cream denotes its good or bad quality. They are very suitable for acne and skin prone to infections. |
- Aloe cream for acne: Other creams use much lower concentrations of aloe for acne, e.g. application of 0.5% aloe vera cream in continuous use can improve acne conditions.
- Aloe vera hair removal: Aloe gel is recommended alone or mixed with calendula oil to moisturize the skin after chemical hair removal or waxing. If you use already prepared creams, check that too many excipients (additives) do not appear in the list of ingredients because many of them are contraindicated after hair removal (natural aloe gel is ideal or look for brands that contain aloe as the first ingredient or in a high percentage, greater than 30%)
- Aloe vera for the face: Aloe gel is very suitable for remedying small imperfections on the face, such as pimples, blackheads, etc. (More information)
- Aloe vera for hair: Aloe vera juice diluted in water can be used after applying a natural shampoo to rinse the hair. This will provide more vigor to our hair, giving it greater growth and helping to prevent baldness. Due to its astringent properties, it is especially recommended in case of oily hair or seborrhea.
- Aloe vera for nails: Aloe vera is also recommended for nail care. To do this, we will make a special nail cream by mixing a little aloe gel and a moisturizing hand cream (avocado pulp can be used). It can be applied once a day. Some specialists use aloe gel with a few drops of latex (antiseptic yellow liquid from the leaves) against onychomycosis (nail fungus).
