What are radishes?
Characteristics of radishes (Rhapanus sativus)
Radishes (Rhapanus sativus) are plants of the Cruciferae family, also called winter vegetables.
Within this family we can mention other plants that are as important in food as cabbage, broccoli, arugula, and other herbs, such as white rocket (Dipotaxis erucoides).
Radishes come from the wild species Raphanus raphanistrum.
They are currently widely cultivated vegetables, with numerous varieties, among which we can mention white, red and black radishes, the latter two being the ones that seem to have more properties for the body.
