NATURE PARK OF MONTSENY
Geographical environment
A view of The “Turó de l’Home” from “Les Agudes”
About 40 Km. north east of Barcelona, a few kilometers from the Mediterranean sea, The Montseny stands up with his highest peak the “Turó de l’Home” reaching 1713 meters above the sea.
With 400 square kilometers, The Montseny belongs to the Catalan Prelitoral Mountains which is formed with the massifs of “The Agudes”, “Matagalls”, “Pla de la Calma” and the “Turó de l’Home”.

It is quite an isolated mountain, standing out because it’s quite high in relation with the plains surrounding it. From the Tordera valley (100 m above sea) to the highest mountain (1713 meters above sea) there are only 10 Km. in straight line. This characteristic and its proximity to the Mediterranean sea have developed a varied vegetation.
