How to arrive to Montseny?
The road that joins S. Celoni with Viladrau
The easiest way to get access to the park is by means of one of the two roads that cross it:
– The road that joins S. Celoni with Viladrau, going across Santa fe, where, besides having at our disposal a Nature School, one can admire the splendid beech forest, covering practically the very road. Before reaching Viladrau, we will go past the “Coll of Sant Marçal” (“Coll” is the Catalan word for the English word “Col”).
From this point, There are splendid views and this is the starting point for many people to reach the Matagalls. Also, before Santa Fe, there is a narrow track that climbs up the “Turó de l’Home”.
From a botanical point of view, this route crosses much more vegetated and shady landscapes than the second one, so we’ll find plant formations much more related with the Atlantic kind than in the second route, such as in the case of the Beech Forest of Santa Fe.
The road that joins Sta María de Palautordera with Seva
– The road that joins Sta María de Palautordera with Seva, going past S. Esteve de Palautordera, The Montseny and the Brull. Before Montseny village, we can take a road to the “Costa del Montseny”, where, in the center of information, a fantastic slide projection about the vegetation of the park can be seen.
From this village another road lead us to the “Turó de l’Home”. The village of Montseny is the main touristic resort of the zone, We can dispose of a Center of Information and some typical shops where we can buy typical food products and souvenirs.
Speaking about botany, this second route goes along more sunny, dry places, so the vegetation here deals with the Mediterranean characteristics, such as the woods of holm oaks.
